Computer Lab and Computer User Group
 
 
Please note: Due to Covid-19 there are no in person lab meetings. The  Alvin Sherman Library (ALS) is currently open to the general public. Masks and social distancing is required. 
 
Once ASL is open again for group meetings then... Come join us in the Computer Lab A located on the 2nd floor of the Alvin Sherman Library, Nova Southeastern University. Computers are available from 12:00 noon until 1:00 pm prior to the General Meeting and Program.  Check our Events calendar to for announcements to current and up coming events.  
 
There are 24 free computers which have internet access to the following: 
  • Genealogy Collection can be searched through NovaCat, the online catalog of NSU. The actual genealogical collection is located on the 4th floor of the library.
  • Access to many Alvin Sherman Library, NSU databases
 
During the computer time, GSBC members are available to assist you and to help answer any questions that have you stumped. It is a great way to share tips, ask questions and learn how to filter through all the internet provides and can help you with your genealogical research. When the library is open to the public visit the 2nd floor reference desk for assistance to computers.
 
You may need a Nova Southeastern University Library card to have access to certain programs. If you live, work or go to school in Broward County, the card is free. Bring proof of your residence or employment and stop by the circulation desk located on the 1st floor of the Alvin Sherman Library and get your card. The benefits of having a library card --  many of the books can be checked out or accessed from home when you have a card!
